How to Use Inbox Buddy

Clean your Gmail inbox in five easy steps. Nothing is stored — your data lives only in your browser session.

  1. 1

    Sign in with Google

Click "Sign in with Google" on the home page. You'll be taken to Google's consent screen where you grant Inbox Buddy permission to read and modify your Gmail. No password is ever shared with us.

  2. 2

See your unread emails grouped by sender

Inbox Buddy fetches up to 500 of your unread messages and groups them by sender. Each row shows the sender's name, email address, and how many unread messages they've sent you.

  3. 3

Filter with the slider or search

Use the "Min. unread per sender" slider to focus on the noisiest senders — drag right to hide senders with fewer unread messages. Use the search box to find a specific sender by name or email address.

  4. 4

    Select and bulk delete

Check the box next to any sender (or use "Select all" to pick every visible row). The toolbar shows how many emails are selected. Click "Delete selected" and confirm to move them all to your Gmail Trash.

  5. 5

    Sign out when done

Clicking "Sign out" immediately clears your session cookie. Your Gmail tokens are gone from our server — nothing is retained.

What happens to deleted emails?

Inbox Buddy moves messages to your Gmail Trash, not permanent deletion. Gmail automatically purges Trash after 30 days. If you change your mind, you can restore emails from the Trash in Gmail before that window closes.

Privacy at a glance

  • We never read or store email subjects or bodies.
  • Your OAuth tokens are held in an encrypted session cookie — never in a database.
  • Signing out deletes your session immediately.
  • We do not use analytics or tracking cookies.
